Isaiah 59:19 So shall they fear The name of the LORD from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.


Why does the writer use west and the rising sun?




What is west of Israel in Isaiah's time? Who is to the east?





Why would Isaiah use the word flood about the enemy?




What does it mean The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him?





I am afraid LORD

the flood is coming

Arise for me LORD

be my standard
