Bonsai tree so small and frail
purchased as plant by me
disabled, locked in home
nature planted in my life
growing and shaping help
to clear my mind from pain
an art to keep from killing it
an art to form its future shape
frees my mind to look ahead
more than rising from bed
tiny touch forms great change
passing on to my children
