Sharing Your Faith
God may give you the chance to share your faith with those that you meet each day. Please take time to prepare yourself for this wondrous opportunity. Prepare yourself with prayer for the Holy Spirit to speak through you.
"But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. (Mark 13:11 NKJV)
God knows their heart and yours and will give you the words to share something meaningful for you both. Here are some tips to help prepare you.
1. Please be in prayer that many will come to you and give you the opportunity to share with them. Our prayers are the first and most important part of being able to share our faith. As you pray remember those you know and call upon the Holy Spirit to prepare their hearts to receive the love and forgiveness of Jesus.
2. Help them recognize their need! Some will be emotionally touched and will seek a release, but for an eternal change there must be recognition they need God and that they need to change.
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23 NKJV)
3. We need not debate theology, or to answer endless questions, but just share our faith. Share how Jesus has made a difference in your life. If they seek to argue DON’T! No one can be argued into being a Christian. Keep them on track to receiving Jesus. You can even call on them to try out Jesus. Jesus Himself told the disciples to “Come, and see!”
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17 NKJV)
4. Make them acquainted with the passage below. Over the next days Satan will try to tell them they are not saved. They are too bad, they didn’t do it right, or that God doesn’t really care. Share this promise and it will be something they can hang on to in the days ahead!
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 NKJV)
5. Invite them to a Church where they can be discipled. IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE YOUR CHURCH! If their family goes somewhere else that is fine. Try to get at least their name so you can pray for them. If you can, get their address and we can send them a card in a few days. If they desire to go to a certain church let that church know so they can reach out to them.
6. If the person you are with needs deeper counseling please look for help! Some may need professional counseling! Don’t be afraid to ask for help!
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!
