FEET WASHING
The Twelve He loved and served
In a way not ever deserved
One possessed by a devil
The love of Jesus was so level
Kneeling before to wash their feet
The great God washing dirty feet
Washing devil possessed feet
Teaching us to wash their feet
Some we serve sent by hell
On that we must not dwell
The love of God washing them
Washing the devil out of them.
Maunday Thursday
Washing their feet and offering Himself
Jesus took basin and towel off the shelf
Knelt before those human feet
The God of the universe washing feet
Hands that formed heavens beautiful sight
And set the earth on a journey just right
Hands that formed man from earths dust
Hands that shaped earths amazing crust
Those hands washed feet of simple men
Men who were filthy with their sin
Between the supper and the wash that day
More than earth’s dirt was washed away
It was enough to wash the feet alone
For they ate God’s body that did atone.
