To me the book of Habakkuk is a primer in relational prayer which is a conversation rather than a statement by Habakkuk. We see the heart of Habakkuk which is wounded by all the suffering sand evil he experiences around him. We also see the heart of God who responds honestly and in a shocking way Habakkuk did not expect or desire. This prayer conversation would become part of the history of Israel and of God’s story or His Story. We are reminded history is the story of God working with and in humanity.
