And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.” (Matthew 14:14 NKJV)
Literally being moved with compassion means to be moved in our spleen or bowels. The spleen and bowels were thought to be the seat of emotion and pity. Compassion is no good without producing action to help those in need.
