A Story of Life

Read Matthew 8:1-13

There are two stories here.  One is about a Leper and one about a Centurion.  So often we look at each story as if they are not connected in anyway.  Remember writers in the time the Gospels were written did not emphasize a life chronologically but grouped stories to make a point.  Look at these stories this way and ask God what He wants to reveal to you here.

How are the two stories alike?  How are the people involved alike?

How are they different?  How are the people involved different?

Does Jesus care about those outside the Church?  Can you support your position with scripture?

Does Jesus care about “bad” people?  Can you support your position with scripture?

Should we care about them?  Can you support your position with scripture?

What does this say about you and about the Church?
